The hypersensitivity of a person to certain foreign substances like dust, pollens or any such other substances is basically termed as ALLERGY.

Allergens are those substances which cause allergy.

The unfavourable response of a body to certain foreign substances is called an allergic reaction.

FOR EXAMPLE, ECZEMA IS THE ALLERGIC REACTION OF SKIN. ASTHMA IS ALSO ONE OF THE MOST COMMON DISEASES CAUSED BY ALLERGY TO POLLENS, DUSTS, ETC., AND RESULTS IN BREATHING DIFFICULTIES.

The picture directly illustrates a type of skin allergy (ECZEMA). You can refer to it for having a view of the allergic reaction of skin in case of ECZEMA.
