define Allotrop and Catenation
Answers
Answer:
ALLOTROPHE:- It the property where one element can
exist in its two or more than two physical
physical forms for eg : carbon ( graphite
and diamond)
CATENATION:- It is the property where carbon atom link
with other carbon atoms to form long
chain and covalent bond is formed .This
process is also called ' SELF LINKING'
The key difference between catenation and allotropy is that catenation refers to the biding of an element to itself, forming chain or ring structures, whereas allotropy refers to the existence of different physical forms of the same chemical element.
