Amorphous Solid : –

  • Amorphous word is derived from a word ‘Omorohe’ which means no sape or irregular .

  • In amorphous solid, the constituent particles are randomly arranged or scattered with no definite geometry , so they do not have any definite shape or form .

  • They are isotropic in nature means properties like metallic strength, electrical and thermal conductivity, refractive index, cofficient of expansion are same therefore the arrangement of particles is disordered in all three directions .

  • These merits over a wide range of temperature means the cooling curve is smooth .
