Correct question:-

Define amplitude,time period and frequency of sound wave.

Answer :-

Sound :- It is a longitudinal wave travelled in a medium when the particle of medium vibrate.

The sound has following Charcterstics:-

1) Amplitude :- The amplitude is the maximum displacement by a wave from zero level is known as amplitude.

The loudness of sound wave depends upon the amplitude of vibration.

2) Time period :- The time taken by a vibrating body to complete one vibration or a cycle is known as time period of sound wave.

3) Frequency :- The frequency is defined as the number of vibration occurs per unit time is called frequency of sound wave.

It is given as :-

\boxed{f = \dfrac {1}{t} }

  • It's SI unit is hertz.

Shrillness of a sound wave depends upon the frequency of vibration.
