In mathematics, an irrational number is a real number that cannot be expressed as a ratio of integers, i.e. as a fraction. Therefore, irrational numbers, when written as decimal numbers, do not terminate, nor do they repeat. ,example-root2,root5

A rational number can be represented by the form of  p/q where q is not equal to zero. If the denominator is 0 then it is a irrational number.
