A light-emitting diode (LED) is a two-lead semiconductor lightsource. It is a p–n junction diode that emits light when activated. When a suitable current is applied to the leads, electrons are able to recombine with electron holes within the device, releasing energy in the form of photons.

they are preferred over balls as LED lamps have a long life and consume very little power the only problem is that their cost is somewhat high however there long life and low power conservation a great advantages there also very eco friendly
