Aerobic:
Aerobic respiration takes place in the presence of oxygen. Glucose is complete oxidised to release CO2, water and energy.
It releases more energy.
It occurs both in the cytoplasm and mitochondria of the living cell.
Last product formed is water
Glucose––Oxygen––––Carbon Dioxide+water+Energy
Anaerobic:
It takes place in the absence of oxygen
Glucose is incompletely oxidised to release ethyl alcohol, CO2 and energy.
It releases less energy.
It occurs only in the cytoplasm of the living cell.
Water is not formed
Glucose––––No oxygen–––Alcohol+CO2+energy
