Overloading is where a device is drawing more current than the system is capable of dissipating effectively. Or more current is being drawn than the supply is able to supply. short circuit means that a path has been caused that diverts the power from the circuit it should be in, into a path it shouldn't be in.

Define and explain short circuiting and
1). Overloading :- If power drawn by an electronic appliance from the circuit exceeds the permissible limit of circuit it is known as overloading .
2). Short Circuiting :- When due to some unwanted connection getting formed in the circuit , the current diverts to an unwanted path and not going in proper amount to the appliances is known as short circuiting
