(1) phrase- phrase is a group of word that work together to make meaning .

EXAMPLE- the brown hat was blowing away in the wind.

(2)- clause- a clause may from part of a sentence or it may be a complete sentence in itself.

EXAMPLE- he was eating a Bacon sandwich.
