Management of animals in a livestock is animal husbandry. 
It involves:
feeding: proper nutrient and food is fed to the animals to get better output
Breeding: Improved and best breeds are choosed to expand the livestock
Controlling: maintenance of the environment and animals is practiced. as in the breeding step those animals are selected who are more resistant to diseases and thus produce offspring who are even more healthier and capable of resistance
