Animalia is the 5th Kingdom in the 5 kingdom classification given by R.H. Whittaker.
Kingdom Animalia consist of organisms which are multicellular, mainly heterotrophic(feeding on other organisms). They don't have a cell wall. Their cells generally have a central nucleus and small vacuoles.
1. On basis of Level of organization, they are classified as:
i) Cellular level.
ii) Tissue level.
iii) Organ level.
iv) Organ system level.
2. On basis of Symmetry, they are classified as:
i) Asymmetric-having no symmetry.
ii) Bilaterally symmetrical-symmetrical in one plane.
iii) Radially symmetrical-symmetrical in any plane.

THE KINGDOM ANIMALIA IS CLASSIFIED INTO 11 PHYLUMS:-

1. Porifera- Body with pores and canals in walls.
2. Coelenterata- Special cells named Cnidoblast are present used for anchorage, defence or to capture the prey.
3. Ctenophora- Comb plates for locomotion are present.
4. Platyhelminthes- Have flat body, many are parasites.
5. Aschelminthes- Rounded elongated bodied worms.
6. Annelida- Body is segmented.
7. Arthropoda- Tough exoskeleton is present. Legs are jointed.
8. Mollusca- Marine, external skeleton of shell is present.
9. Echinodermata- Marine with spiny body. Water vascular system is present which helps in locomotion and respiration.
10. Hemichordata- Worm like organisms with collar and trunk.
11. Chordata- Having notochord. Having gill slits in at least one stage of life.
