A natural satellite is an astronomical object orbiting the earth or any other planet. Earth as well as many other planets have natural satellites revolving around them.

Similarly if a man made object revolves around Earth or any other planets in a fixed orbit is called as an artificial satellite.

These satellites are used for various purposes.

They are helpful in navigation, weather forecast, communication, and for observing other planets.
