define asexual reproduction?????!
Answers
In sexual reproduction there is only a Single parent involved it occurs in primitive and lower organisms.
I hope it cleared
Hey mate
☻ Asexual reproduction ☻
Formation of new individuals from the cells of a single parent known as asexual reproduction.
● Types of asexual reproduction.
There are major 6 types of asexual reproduction :-
1 ) = Binary fission
2 ) = Fragmentation
3 ) = Budding
4 ) = Spore formation
5 ) = Regeneration
6 ) = Vegetative propagation.
● Fission
There are two of Fission :-
1 ) = Binary Fission
2 } = Multiple Fission
● Binary fission
Fission means " splitting into two "In binary fission the nucleus of the Amoeba rapidly divides into two nucleic after the division of cytoplasm , the two daughter cells are formed.
Two examples of binary fission = Amoeba and Leishmania.
2. Multiple fission
The parent cell divides into many daughter cells.
e.g.Plasmodium.
● Fragmentation
It is the accidental process when broken pieces of an organism grows in a complete organism.
It occurs in multicellular organism.
Two examples are :-Lichens , Flatworms
● Budding
The process by which a bud develops as a outgrowth on parent body.
When these buds become mature these buds detach from the parent body.
Two examples are :- Hydra and Yeast
● Spore formation
Spores are covered by thick walls they protect them until they come in contact with suitable conditions.
They produce new individuals under favourable conditions
Two examples are - Ferns , Mosses
● Regeneration
When simple animals develop a new individuals from their broken older parts it is known as regeneration.
Two examples of regeneration are - Planaria , Sea Star
● Vegetative propagation
In vegetative propagation reproduction takes place from the vegetative parts like stem , roots and leaves.
Method for vegetation propagation
● Natural
1 ) = By grafting - Dahlias
2 ) = By stems - potatoes
3 ) = By leaves - Bryophyllum
● Artificial
1 ) = Grafting - Mango
2 ) = Cutting - Rose
3 )= Layering - Jasmine
