Asymmetrical carbon is defined as carbon atom which is attached to four different atoms which is also called as chiral carbon

This type of carbon shows optical activity i.e. rotation of polarized light by some angle

There are 2 asymmetrical carbons in this diagram
First carbon and second last 5th carbon

mrlearner44: i am just confused in the word *4 d/f atoms* bcz if we look at here C is also attached with C and two times with same atom so how it is d/f?
angel4244: C is attached to C but another C we must consider as a whole group i.e. CHOH
angel4244: please mark as brainliest
