Yes, you read it correct. SI unit of atmospheric pressure is Pascal named after the scientists Blaise Pascal.

Actually Pressure is defined as Force per Area. Thus the SI unit should be N/m^2 . Pascal is same as N/m2.

Here N represents newton which is SI unit of Force which is same as Kg.m/s2.

m represent metre which is SI unit of length.

Kg represent Kilogram which is SI unit of Mass.

m2SI unit of Area.
