Define atom compound mixture and solution
Answers
A material composed of two or more substances is a mixture. Elements and compounds are both examples of pure substances.A substance that cannot be broken down into chemically simpler components is an element. For example, water is a compound composed of the elements hydrogen and oxygen.
A molecule is formed when two or more atoms join together chemically. If atoms combine that are of two or more different elements, we call that a compound. All compounds are molecules, but not all molecules are compounds. When two hydrogen atoms combine with one oxygen atom, it becomes the compound water. Is also termed as atomic solution.
Answer:
Explanation:Atom - the smallest unit of any matter is called atom. Atom consists of proton(positively charged) ,neutrons(neutral) and electrons (negatively charged).
Compound - when two or more than two elements combine together in a fixed ratio it is called a compound.
Eg. H2O , which consists of 2 hydrogen atoms and 1 oxygen atom.
Mixture- when two or more things are mixed together in any ratio it is called mixture.
Mixtures are of two types:
1. Homogenous mixtures
2. Heterogenous mixtures
Solution - it consists of two components i.e solute ( small quantity) and the solvent (large quantity).
The solute is mixed in the solvent giving rise to solutions.
