Atomic mass unit also called as unified mass is the unit of mass used to express atomic and molecular weights.

1 mole of O2 = 16g of oxygen

1 mole = 6.022 ×10^23 atoms

6.022 ×10^23 atoms of oxygen= 16g of oxygen

1 atom of oxygen = 16 / 6.022 ×10^23

= 16×10^-23 /6.022

= 2.656 × 10^-23 g
