Atomic mass unit is defined as the mass unit equal to exactly one-twelfth (1/12th) of the mass of one atom of carbon-12. It is denoted by u (unified mass).
i.e. 1 u = 1.66 x 10-24 g
it may help u

Heya...
➡Total mass of an chemical element is expressed through atomic mass unit.
➡It is the sum of all atomic mass of each elements of the compound.
➡For example ,Atomic mass of H2O = 1*2+16 = 2+16 = 18.
