Nutrition-The procees of taking edible components in our body and it's utilization for maintain life process of living organisms, proper growth, maintenance of their body and nourishment, formation of new tissues, cell and regeneration of dead tissues and cells is called nutrion.

Types of nutrients

1.Autotrophic

1.Autotrophic2.Heterotrophic

Autotrophic- The mode of nutrition in which green plants produce their food by the process of photosynthesis is called autotrophic mode of nutrition.

All the green plants are autotrophs. Autotrophs contains the green pigment called chlorophyll which is capable of absorbing and using of Sunlight energy.

Essential process for autotrophic mode of nutrition ---(Photosynthesis)

Photosynthesis- iIn a series of complex chemical reactions carbon dioxide, which is taken in from the year by the leaf through stomata and water which is absorbed by roots is converted to glucose in the presence of Sunlight and chlorophyll is called photosynthesis. Oxygen and water are released as byproducts.

Oxygen and water are released as byproducts.

The term photosynthesis is coined from two words --- (Photo)-- meaning light and (synthesis) meaning building up.

The process of photosynthesis is complicated oxidation-reduction process resulting in the oxidation of water and reduction of carbon dioxide to form organic compounds like starch.

Photosynthesis is summarised by the equation

Carbon dioxide + Water in the presence of Sunlight with the help of chlorophyll Glucose +Oxygen obtained.
