Hey mate,

DEFINITION:-
Auxin is a plant hormone (or phytohormone) which acts as a growth promoter.

FUNCTION:-
It promotes cell enlargement and cell differentiation in plants. They also promote fruit growth and controls plant's response to light and gravity.

EXAMPLE:-
When sunlight comes from the above, auxin present at the tip of stems spread throughout uniformly down the stem. Due to equal presence of auxin on all sides of the plant, both sides of the plant grow uniformly. When light rays fall on one side of the plant, auxins move to the other side as it moves away from light. As it promotes growth, the side with more auxin hormone grows fast and it causes the bending of the plant towards light.
