When we measure the velocity of a body for a longer period of time it is know as average velocity
Average velocity = total distance / total time
Average velocity is different from instantaneous velocity
For unfiorm velocity the average velocity is equal to instantaneous veloicty

When a body travels a long distance with different velocity we measure its average.
average velocity =total displacment/total time.
average velocity =total displacment/total time.
