hi

hope this answer is useful

According to kinetic theory of an ideal gas , the molecules of a gas are in state of continuous random motion. The particles move in different directions with different speeds.

Average velocity is the arithmetic mean of the velocities of different molecules of a gas at given temperature.

Root mean square velocity is the square root of mean of squares of the speed of individual gas molecules.

Average speed =√(8RT/πM)

And

Root mean square speed=√(3RT/M)
