The blood has got two main parts:

  1. Blood Plasma: It is the liquid part of the blood and has a pale yellow color and it consists mainly of water.
  2. Blood Cells: There are three types of blood cells:

a. Red Blood Cells or RBCs: They are red in color because of a red pigment called hemoglobin present in them which helps it to transport oxygen from the alveoli of lungs to all parts of the body.

b. White Blood Cells or WBCs: They are also known as the soldiers of the body as they help to fight foreign material entering in the body.

c. Platelets: They help in blood clotting in case the blood circulatory system develops a leakage.
