BODMAS:-
It is a way of simplifying expressions made up of certain numbers. It's full form is "Bracket - Of - Division - Multiplication - Addition and Subtraction". It is a technique which says to,
- Simiplify the numbers given in brackets firstly.
- Then to simplify the division, and then multiplication.
- Nextly, you have to simiplify the addition part and subsequently, the subtraction part.
Examples:-
1. Simplify "22 ÷ 11 + 2 - 1".
22 ÷ 11 + 2 - 1
= 2 + 2 - 1
= 4 - 1
= 3.
{Since multiplication was not present, we simplified the addition part.}
2. Simplify "99 ÷ 3 + 7 - 5 × 9".
99 ÷ 3 + 7 - 5 × 9
= 33 + 7 - 5 × 9
= 33 + 7 - 45
= 40 - 45
= -5.
Famous problem:-
3. 9 ÷ 3(2 + 1)
= 9 ÷ 3 × 3 {Solved the bracket first}
= 3 × 3
= 9.
Now hope it is clear to you behn ^^.
