Answer:

(1) The trachea divides into two bronchi (singular bronchus) at its distal end behind the sternum.

(2) The bronchus has complete ring of cartilage for support

(3) The bronchi enter the lungs on either side.

(4) After entering the lungs cach bronchus divides into secondary and tertiary bronchi. The tertiary bronchi divide further to form bronchioles.

(5) The bronchioles are minute and are without the cartilage rings in their walls.

(6) Each bronchiole ends into a bunch of alveoli which appear like a bunch of grapes. Each alveolus is balloon shaped.

(7) Many alveoli make the lung spongy and elastic.
