Two types of hardness found in water. One is temporary hardness meanshardness due to carbonate and bicarbonate ions.i.e. CaCO3,MgCO3.It is removedby boiling the water. Second is permanent hardness means hardness due to chloride and sulphate ions.i.e.CaCl2,MgCl2.It is removed by softening and demineralisation process
