Calorific value refers to the amount of heat energy produced on the complete combustion of 1 kg of fuel. It is expressed in a unit known as kJ/kg which is its SI unit and its full form is Kilo joule/ kilogram.

Higher and Lower calorific value

The higher the calorific value, the easier and more combustible a fuel is. The lower the calorific value the more difficult it is to burn a fuel.
