Calorific value is determined as the proportion of heat energy discharged during the complete combustion of a unit mass of fuel. It is illustrated in kJ/kg.
- For example, the calorific value of LPG is 55000KJ/kg means 1 kilogram of LPG is burned entirely and55000KJ/kg of heat energy is produced.
- Also, we can define it as the amount of heat generated by burning 1 gram of fuel entirely named as its calorific value.
