Calorific Value : the heat produced by the combustion of a unit weight of a fuel.

2nd Def: the quantity of heat produced by the complete combustion of a given mass of a fuel, usually expressed in joules per kilogram.

The calories or thermal units contained in one unit of a substance and released when the substance is burned.
