Catalyst: Catalysis is the process of increasing the rate of a chemical reaction by adding a substance known as a catalyst.

Positive catalyst : The catalyst which activates the rate of reaction is called a positive catalyst.

Homogeneous catalyst : Homogeneous catalysts are those which exist in the same phase (gas or liquid ) as the reactants

Heterogeneous catalyst ​:  heterogeneous catalysis is catalysis where the phase of catalysts differs from that of the reactants or products.
