Centripetal force :- The force which act on towards the centre of a body when an object is moving on a circular path is called centripetal force.

It's magnitude can be given by this formula :-

\boxed{\sf{  </strong><strong>F</strong><strong>=</strong><strong> </strong><strong>\frac{m}{ {v}^{2} }  \times r</strong><strong>}}

where, M is mass

V is velocity,

R is radius.

In the absence of centripetal force the moon doesn't revolves around the earth because centripetal force kept bind the moon towards it's centre. Without centripetal force moon escapes tangentliy in space.
