Centrosome:-

• It is present in animal cell only. It is located near the nucleous. It contains two micro cylindrical bodies called centroids . centrioles are surrounded by centrosphere and are involved in single fibre formation during cell division.

Functions:-

• It initiates and regular cell division.

• It produces basal bodies from which arise cilia and fragella.
