Any reaction that ends up with chemical change is called chemical reaction. In a chemical reaction generally one or more new substances are created. The new substance have different property from original one. Moreover we cannot recover the starting material from new product by any physical method.

Example :

Hydrogen + Oxygen = water

water have different properties from Hydrogen and oxygen.

  • change in temperature
  • change in colour
  • may/may not produce heat (exothermic-produces heat, endothermic-Cooling)
