An application, or application program, is a software program that runs on your computer. Web browsers, e-mail programs, word processors, games, and utilities are all applications. The word "application" is used because each program has a specific application for the user.
Computers and their different applications are-
1. Computers are programmed machine that has made human lives effortless. When an input is fed to the computer, it is processed and the output is executed as a result which is in language readable by human beings. CPU, also known as central processing unit and motherboard are the main components of the computer. The devices used along the computers can be divided into output devices and input devices. Earlier, computers were discovered as calculating machines. The first computer that was invented was a machine of gigantic size. Gradually, with the advancement of technology, the size has been compacted. Laptops are a prototype of computers which are the portable version of computers.
2. The different applications of computers are-
a. It can carry out complicated mathematical problems.
b. It can store a huge amount of data.
c. It can be used for entertainment purposes like playing video games.
d. It is an integral part of the industry as all the presentations, documents, spreadsheets are effectively created using the computer.
