concave= A concave mirror is a spherical mirror in which the reflecting surface and the center of curvature fall on the same side of the mirror. In other words, if the mirror coating lies outside of the spherical surface, then it is known as a concave mirror.

convex=A convex mirror is a spherical mirror in which the reflecting surface and the center of curvature lie on the opposite sides of the mirror. In other words, if the mirror coating lies in the inside of the spherical surface, then it is known as a convex mirror.

concave=Converging Mirror

convex=Diverging Mirror, Fish eye mirror

concave=Can be projected on a screen

convex=Cannot be projected on a screen.

Concave means “hollowed or rounded”.

Convex means “curved or rounded like the outside of a sphere or circle”.

1. In Concave mirror, the inner surface is reflecting and outer surface is coated

2. After reflection the reflected rays converge and meet at a point on the principal axis, hence concave mirror is also called converging mirror

1. In Convex mirror, the outer surface is reflecting and inner surface is coated

2. After reflection the reflected rays diverge and meet appear to meet at a  point on the principal axis, hence convex mirror is also called diverging mirror
