♦ Two basic components of connective tissues: Cells, Extracellular matrix.

Example: Blood is a special type of connective tissue.

✔As such it can connect bones to each other, muscles to bone, bind tissue and give support to various parts of body by packing around organs so that they do not get displaced by body movements.

✔There are 4 types of connective tissue:- Areolar connective tissue, Adipose tissue, skeletal tissue and fluid connective tissue.

✔The main functions of connective tissue are binding, supporting and packing together different organs of the body.
