hey mate here is your answer

The Constitution of India (IAST: Bhāratīya Saṃvidhāna) is the supreme law of India.[1]The document lays down the framework demarcating fundamental political code, structure, procedures, powers, and duties of government institutions and sets out fundamental rights, directive principles, and the duties of citizens. It is the longest written constitution of any country on earth.[b][2][3][4] B. R. Ambedkar, chairman of the drafting committee, is widely considered to be its chief architect.[5]

Our constitution is a body of fundamental rules according to which the government of a country functions . It contains the powers and functions of the various organs of the Government and their mutual relationship . Therefore in the Indian democratic setup the constitution is a pivot and the primary source of our laws.
May be it will help you..?
