Convex lens is a transparent optical device used to converge and diverge transmitted light and to form images. it is also known as converging lens because it makes parallel light rays passing through it bend inward and meet a spot just beyond the lens known as focal point.

The Lens that is thicker at the centre and thinner at the edges is knows as convex lens. A Convex lens is also called a converging lens because it makes parallel light rays passing through it and meet (converge) at a spot just beyond the lens known as the focal point.
