Hii dear here is your answer

A convex lens is called a converging lens because when parallel rays of light fall on such a lens, the rays will get refracted and after refraction they will converge at a focal point at a certain distance away from the lens.

a concave lens is called diverging lens , where parallel rays of light is directed towards it will diverge after refraction. when trace backwards these rays will appear to be coming from a focal point in front of the lens.

Hope it's help u
