The slowly eating of metal by the action of atmospheric conditions such as moisture, temperature etc. is known as corrosion.

When Oil and fats or foods containing oils and fats are exposed to air or oxygen ,they get oxidised due to which food becomes stale or bad and its colour and smell changes .It is called rancidicity.for eg. if the food left in few time they become rancid and foul smell comes.
