cross product and dot product are two different things
A dot product is the product of two vectors whoose resultant(product) is scalar
eg
W=F.S
here F is vector S is also a Vector term
but
Work which is their product is scalar
: Dot prodct of two vectors is
A(vector) . B(vector) =ABcos¤
here ¤ is angle b/w A and B
But cross product is the product two vectors whoose product is a vector quantity
eg
torque=F* d
