1. It is a type of government in which the leaders elected by the people

2. All major decisions are made by the elected leaders who are the representatives of the people

3.Free and fair elections are held regularly

4. Democracy is based on the principal of one person, one vote and one value

5. There is a rule of law and basic fundamental rights are granted to each and every citizens of the country .There is no discrimination amongst the people on the basis of caste, colour, gender class or religion.
