Define different models of biogas plants ? Explain the Deen Bandhu Model biogas plant.
Answers
Answer:
Fixed dome type biogas plant, floating dome type biogas plant
Explanation:
Fixed dome type biogas plant: Materials need for this type are as follows:
Animal dung, poultry waste.human waste, industrial waste and Domestic waste.
Procedure:
The biogas plant made with brick and cement with five sections,Mixing tank, inlet tank, digester t,outlet tank and overflow tank. All the materials mixed in equal quantity in water in the mixing tank, now the mixture becomes a slurry. The slurry put into the digester through an inlet chamber. When the digester is filled partially with slurry the digester left unused for two months. During this two months anaerobic bacteria present in the slurry decomposes and ferment the biomass in the presence of water. As a result of fermentation of biogas is formed which starts collecting in the dome of the digester. As the gas starts to accumulate pressure exerted by the biogas exert forces the spend slurry into the outlet chamber from the outlet chamber the spend slurry overflows from the overflow tank. The spent slurry is used as manure for plants. The biogas supply through sa system of pipelines which is connected to system.
Floating gas holder type plant: the material it requires mixing tank, digester tank with two opening inlet and outlet openings, gas holder and overflow tank.
Deenbandhu biogas plant : This model was developed in 1984 by the food for food production (AFPRO) a voluntary organization in New delhi. This model reduced the half of the cost of KVIC model.this is an entire biogas programme of India even it reaches the poorer sections. It is a model of Fixed dome biogas plant. The cost of a deenbandhu plant is around 8000/-
