Answer:

1.Squamous epithelium

Function:

Allows materials to pass through by diffusion and filtration, and secretes lubricating substances

2. Cuboidal epithelium

Function:

Secretes and absorbs

3.Columnar epithelium

Function:

Absorbs; it also secretes mucous and enzymes

The covering or protective tissues in the animal body are epithelial tissues. Epithelium covers most organs and cavities within the body it also forms a barrier to keep different body systems separate . the skin , the lining of the mouth , the lining of blood vessels Are all made of of epithelial tissues.
Epithelial tissues have no intercellular spaces.
Different types of epithelial tissues are-

1) SIMPLE SQUAMOUS EPITHELIUM TISSUE
In lining of the blood vessels where transportation of substances occurs through a selectively permeable surface there is a simple flat kind of epithelium this is called simple squamous epithelium scale .these cells are extremely thin and flat and form delicate lining the Oesophagus and the lining of the mouth are also covered with Simple squamous epithelium.

2) STRATIFIED SQUAMOUS EPITHELIUM
Skin epithelial cells are arranged in many layers to prevent Wear and tear since they are arranged in the pattern of layers the epithelium is called stratified squamous epithelium.

3) COLUMNAR EPITHELIUM
Where Absorption and secretion occur as in the lining of the intestine tall epithelium cells are present this Is columnar epithelium .It facilitates movement across the epithelial barrier.

4) CILIATED COLUMNAR EPITHELIUM
In the respiratory track the Columnar epithelial tissue also has CILIA which are hair like projections on the outer surfaces of epithelial cells these cilia can move and their movement pushes the mucus forward to clear it this type of a Epithelium tissue is the ciliated Columnar epithelial.

5) CUBOIDAL EPITHELIUM
It forms the lining of kidney tubules and ducts of salivary gland where it provides mechanical support.

6) GLANDULAR EPITHELIUM
Epithelial cells often acquire additional specialisation as gland cells which can secrete substances At the epithelial surface sometimes a portion of the epithelial tissue folds inwards and a multi cellular gland is formed this is glandular epithelium.
