The electric dipole moment is a measure of the separation of positive and negative electrical charges within a system, that is, a measure of the system's overall polarity. The SI units for electric dipole moment are coulomb-meter; however, the most common unit is the debye

A composition of two equal and opposite polarity separated by small but final distance is called as electric dipole.

The Separation of two politics is known as length of dipole. it is a vector quantity and its direction is from positive to negative charge.

The product of magnitude of either charge in the length of dipole is called as moment of dipole.

for its expression see the above attachment.

the movement of dipole is also a vector quantity which is directed in the direction of dipole and its SI unit is C.m.
