The medium in which a substance is added is called dispersion medium.
The substance which is added to the dispersion medium is called dispersion phase.
Ex:
Solid in solid.
i.e. solid( dispersion phase) is added to another solid (dispersion medium) --> metal and alloys.
Liquid in Solid
Liquid (dispersion phase) added to Solid(dispersion medium)--> curd and jellies
