Dispersion of light can be defined as scattering of light on hitting a surface such a table, glass pane, paper etc.
A rainbow is formed when there is moisture in dir or it is drizzling or the tiny water droplets in the air are at a certain angle ( 40•) from the sun . The water droplets acts as prism. When the white light of sun passes through the drops the white light splits into its 7 constituent colors, ie, VIBGYOR, hence forming rainbow.
