Define dispersion of light. How is scattering of light different from dispersion ? Give one

example of natural phenomenon based on each of these.

Dispersion of light is the splitting of white light into seven colours but scattering of light is simple scatter of light jn same colour .
Eg- dispersion- rainbow formation
Splitting- when sunlight enters in a dense forest it scatter

scattering of light means when a ray of light split into its normal colour when passed through a object or medium

example of dispersion of light is a rainbow formed when light from sun passes through water droplets present in air

example of scattering of light is when sunlight gets scattered after passing through the trees of a dense forest
