HEY MATE,___________________↓↓↓

DISTANCE :- THE TOTAL AREA COVERED BY AN OBJECT FROM ITS INITIAL TO ITS FINAL POSITION.

DISPLACEMENT :- THE SHORTEST DISTANCE COVERED BY THE OBJECT.

EXAMPLE :- THE DISTANCE FROM OUR HOME TO SCHOOL IS 5KM . SO THE TOTAL DISTANCE WILL BE 10KM.

WHEREAS, HOME IS OUR INITIAL POINT AND WE WENT BACK FROM OUR SCHOOL TO OUR HOME. SO HOME IS THE INITIAL AND FINAL POINT. SO THE DISPLACEMENT IS 0

☛Distance is a scalar quantity that refers to "how much ground an object has covered" during its motion. Displacement is a vector quantity that refers to "how far out of place an object is"; it is the object's overall change in position.

☛Displacement is the measurement of the length of the shortest path from the initial point to the final point. ... Distance is a scalar quantity whereas displacement is a vector quantity. Distance is the total path covered by the body and displacement is the shortest path covered by the body.
