Divine right theory is the oldest among all the theories of the origin of the state. Now Divine right theory lost its importance.
According to divine right theory the state is established and ruled by God himself. Directly or indirectly God may rule the state . Kings or some rulers are considered as an agent of God. The kings were not responsible to any human being they were only responsible to God. All the human beings must obey the order of the king. No human beings can not question him for the right or wrong done by him. Some human beings consider them as a shadow of God on earth.
